Willie was captured from the Queensland area of Australia in 1993 and brought to the United States with his band of mares when he was 13 years old . We adopted his group as part of a conservation effort to preserve the heritage of the wild horses of Australia. At first we thought he was a solid black, but when his mare 'Sue' threw a double dilute foal we named Waltzing Matilda, we knew he carried a cream gene.

Unfortunately, nothing is known about his origins.
